Wineskin Winery Download For Mac

If you have previously used a 32bit wine prefix (from pre-Catalina times) then make sure you remove/rename your old /.wine folder before you run wine64. Also be aware that winecfg is gone and attempting to run it will throw an error — use instead wine64 winecfg. Wineskin is a tool used to make ports of Windows software to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (or later). The ports are in the form of normal Mac application bundle wrappers. It works like a wrapper around the Windows software, and you can share just the wrappers if you choose (that is the strategy used here). Download Wineskin Winery here; Create a folder(s) on your desktop and name it the title of your game (e.g. “Secret of the Scarlet Hand”) If your game has two discs, you will need to make three folders (one for each disc, and one to combine the two so that you have one complete game folder).

Many pieces of software used for astronomy do not have equivalents that can be used by those of us running OSX on macintosh computers. I have made a few wineskin wrapped versions of the software that I am currently using and I have made them available here for you.

You must first download Wineskin Winery and install it.

You can then wrap Software such as Registax and AutoStakkert so that they will run almost seamlessly in OSX. If you want to skip this step, you still need to install wineskin winery, but you can use the wineskin wrapped versions of Registax and AutoStakkert that I’ve prepared below. They are currently running without issue on OSX 10.10.

Download Registax 6.1.0.8 packaged in Wine for OSX.

Download AutoStakkert 2.3.0.21 packaged in Wine for OSX. This wrapper has the windows ffmpeg executables already installed that will allow you to import .mov files without having to transcode them.

Wine itself provides a DirectX implementation that, although it has a few bugs left, should run fine. Wine supports DirectX 9.0c at this time. Work on DirectX 10 is underway.

If you attempt to install Microsoft's DirectX, you will run into problems. It is not recommended nor supported by Wine HQ to attempt this. You can install the runtime, but it will not run. The runtime needs access to the Windows drivers, and Wine cannot access them for obvious reasons. The only native Microsoft DLLs that could be useful anyway are the d3dx9_xx.dll type ones, and these require you to accept Microsoft's license. Additionally, versions of these DLLs are now part of the Wine tree. So, as Wine improves these DLLs will only become less relevant.

That said, there are some guides out there which describe how you can install Microsoft's DirectX. We reiterate: it is not recommended nor supported by Wine HQ to attempt this. Furthermore it is considered off topic in Wine HQ support mediums (such as the forums). Please use a clean Wine configuration folder before seeking help (delete your ~/.wine or use another wineprefix and re-install your Windows applications).

If you are using Wineskin Winery to create wrappers..

Everything stored from Wineskin Winery is in the following location (~ means your Home folder)

~/Library/Application Support/Wineskin

Windows 7 gamer edition 2019. Esports, Content, Community.

you can remove that whole folder.

All wrappers are exported to

~/Applications/Wineskin

you can remove that whole folder, but be sure if you want to keep any of your apps you move them out, they will still work fine without Wineskin Winery or anything else still installed.

Remove Wineskin Winery.app in Applications or where ever you put it.

If you used a wrapper that had an ICE version of an engine in it, it is stored locally in ~/Library/Application Support/Wineskin/Engines/ICE so you may want to remove that too.
